On January 24, 2025, Safran’s ENGINeUS 100 motor was awarded Type Certification by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), becoming the first electric motor certified to power new air mobility. As Safran's first global eVTOL partner for the ENGINeUS motor, Mr. Shawn, Co-Founder & COO of TCab Tech, was invited to the Musée d'Art Moderne in Paris to attend the certification ceremony and celebration. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Safran on this remarkable achievement!
In 2022, TCab Tech and Safran signed a cooperation agreement to integrate the ENGINeUS motor into the E20 eVTOL. As the first tilt-rotor eVTOL to be equipped with the ENGINeUS 100 motor, the E20 benefits from its advanced electric propulsion system. As the propulsion system is a core component of an eVTOL, its certification is crucial. The certification of the ENGINeUS 100 motor provides a solid foundation for the E20 eVTOL’s overall certification.
