On September 27, the 2024 World Design Cities Conference commenced at the Shanghai Expo Urban Best Practices Area, featuring TCab Tech's E20 eVTOL as a centerpiece at the Dingbo Building along Huangpu Riverside, showcasing the future of low-altitude travel.
The theme of this year's conference is "Design Without Borders, New Quality Growth." It is structured as "12345+X": one opening ceremony, showcases in Shanghai and Milan, three main forums, four industry-specific sessions (new product launches, supply-demand matching, design talent, opportunity sharing), five professional forums across design fields (industrial, architectural, fashion, digital, service), and X citywide, international, and online events. The aim is to effectively promote industrial development, facilitate cultural exchange, and foster international collaboration.
Since joining UNESCO's Creative Cities Network in 2010, Shanghai has been designated a “City of Design.” The “Shanghai Design 100+” initiative upholds this vision by continuously selecting, showcasing, and promoting outstanding design achievements. This year’s selection process gathered 2,745 exceptional design works from 19 countries and regions, including China, the United States, France, Italy, and Brazil.
As a pioneering representative of industrial design, TCab Tech’s E20 eVTOL has been awarded the TOP 100 design award in the “2024 Shanghai Design 100+” global competition. At the event, TCab Tech co-founder Zhou Longchao accepted the award on behalf of the company and stated during the thematic sharing forum that the E20 eVTOL will serve as an aerial transportation tool to drive the development of economic zones such as the Yangtze River Delta and the Pearl River Delta. TCab Tech will continue to commit to design innovation, empowering future lifestyles.
Representatives from organizations, institutions, and leading companies in the global design industry came together for nearly 50 events, including forums, roundtable discussions, exhibitions, design carnivals, and themed presentations. They shared diverse design solutions, concepts, cutting-edge technologies, and market trends, collectively driving innovation and development in global design.
